    Coon problem

Snuck in quietly Friday, grabbed the camera chip and slipped out. Found we are overrun with raccoons. They are hand spinning this feeder with deer and other raccoons underneath it ALL NIGHT. No way to slip in undetected in the morning and I was concerned about having any corn left. Took the risk to slip back in, put on a raccoon cage and check corn level. Turned into a mess, a feeder wire got broken, lots of repair work, the feeder had maybe one spin of corn left (topped it off with 350 lbs of corn three weeks ago) and about and hour and fourty five minutes later we were out of there. Hunted anyway Saturday morning, our presence the day before seemed to have NO affect on the deer, still poured in. However, from the trail cams they are still getting their greedy little hands in there even after the cage...any other advice?

We have the same problem. They have tore out cages off too. We are killing as many as we can. I watched one chase a deer off.

tack strip on the feeder legs. Works for me. Just wire it on or duct tape it.

Get a live trap (or 10) and bait with marshmallows. In the morning, shoot coons in head with a .22. Dump dead coons. Repeat.

So an angry coon trying to get out of a cage doesn't spook the deer?

That was my first thought (before the cage). However my research on the Green Screen told me there have been some problems with these. Any know if they have worked these out?

                    wanna get rid of coon?

Get some golden malren fly bait at the feed store. Mix 1 tblspoon to one can of cheap dog food. Put it on a rock or paperplate by the feeder. No mo coons.
You can also mix it with big red or dr. pepper and put it in an lod throw a way pan.

I have the same problem. Going to academy today to get a trap. I live on my place so I can probably trap one everynight and knock the numbers down pretty quick.

Pretty sure this is against the law, and read on the GS that a guy was prosectured for it not too long ago.

The best and cheapest way to keep them off your feeder is to put grease on the legs and the side of the barrel. I lost two timers and one motor last year to them not to mention hundreds of lbs of corn got really mad tried cages they ripped them off too. since i put grease on them the trail cameras show them only eating from the ground it works great a little messy though i just carry a tube in the truck with a plastic glove and recoat it when it needs it

How long does it take the deer to get used to the grease smell?
