Snuck in quietly Friday, grabbed the camera chip and slipped out. Found we are overrun with raccoons. They are hand spinning this feeder with deer and other raccoons underneath it ALL NIGHT. No way to slip in undetected in the morning and I was concerned about having any corn left. Took the risk to slip back in, put on a raccoon cage and check corn level. Turned into a mess, a feeder wire got broken, lots of repair work, the feeder had maybe one spin of corn left (topped it off with 350 lbs of corn three weeks ago) and about and hour and fourty five minutes later we were out of there. Hunted anyway Saturday morning, our presence the day before seemed to have NO affect on the deer, still poured in. However, from the trail cams they are still getting their greedy little hands in there even after the cage...any other advice?

The best and cheapest way to keep them off your feeder is to put grease on the legs and the side of the barrel. I lost two timers and one motor last year to them not to mention hundreds of lbs of corn got really mad tried cages they ripped them off too. since i put grease on them the trail cameras show them only eating from the ground it works great a little messy though i just carry a tube in the truck with a plastic glove and recoat it when it needs it
