climbed down at 10:00 lowered the feeder and it was still full. Checked the time setting and feeder time all good. Set a 3rd feedtime for 10:15 and waited and it went off. While taking a mid day break I saw a doe at 300 yards across an open area. I stalked to within 70 yards and passed on the shot was fun stalking in my black scent lock base layers...LOL

Sun:
Location#2. Montague lease. Last weekend pulled camera cards and had a mature spike and 3 of the biggest bucks I have seen in the 6 years of being on this lease one was at least 140" they were there a lot daytime and night. Well we proceded to plow up 2 acres for food plots. Wednesday we planted and covered the wildlife mix and saturday another person over the lease overseaded with clover he said he saw 3 does midday. Got up at 5:30 in the stand by 6:00 sat till 10:00 once again never heard the feeder go off. Pulled the cards on the way out. Not a single deer pic just the ranger pulling the harrow over the food plot. Went back down at 12:00 to top off feeder and realized that after 6 years of slinging corn the spinner plate had stripped and was not turning, was unable to fix. ran to town and could not find any spinner plated so had to buy a whole new spinner. got it installed, climbed back in the stand at 2:00 sat till 7:43 saw absoultly nothing.
I hope nobody else had my bad luck. Ill be hunting the grasslands Wed and Thu hopefully my luck will change.
Any other TBH'ers have bad luck this weekend?

I had the same problem with my feeder.. Watched it go off Sat. Evening (twice), go out sunday morning and nada... I have it set for 2 feedings and neither spun, got out around 7:20 to check it, added another station and it spun????? I am using an american feeder ? anyway I did see some does come in, but I let them walk, really wanted my wife to take the first shot on some meat

No deer for me. I was covered in bucks, ours are still hanging out in groups, but nothing came in that I wanted to shoot. I didn't want to take a nice deer before the rut, so I was after a spike or doe and they were in short supply. The group bucks kinda kept everything else away from the feeder. Oh well, still had a blast and there will always be next time.

At least you accomplished something ie....scouting, and saw a buck. I set almost 20 hours in the stand and nothing!

I usually see does all day in the two spots I hunted. I didn't see any deer except 4 does walking out yesterday morning, but that's it. Luckily, the only deer (doe) my wife saw, she got a good shot at her, and dropped her. So it was the best/worst opening weekend for me ever ha ha. No deer for me but my wife's first deer with archery tackle.

I had a velvet spike come in. I didn't realize how much my tripod chair squeaked until that moment. Every small move created a creak from my chair. After about 8 squeaks he figured something was wrong and took off. Had javelinas come to the blind earlier and of course my chair didn't squeak then! I just took pics of the javelina with my phone.
