I have been looking at the nd3 has anyone used one. Can animals really not see green lights. Do they bother them in any way.

I had a green light on my feeder - purely for hog hunting. You could see it from a half-mile away, and I never had any luck with it. But then, I've not had luck with a red light here either. Soon as I lower the light far enough to hit their eyes, they took off. I had used the same light previously in S Tx for hogs and never had a problem with it. Might be because they have been conditioned to associate a red light with a lead pill?
And, though they might not be able to see the various colored lights--they still case a dark shadow, and that might be what spooks 'em.

Motion sensor with remote alarm next your bed and red light for hog control works well. Parents are having a heck of time with the hogs rooting their back yard, not too far from Birch Creek Park in Somerville. The alarm sounded at 1:30am Saturday, and the game was ON. Had prepped my 12 gauge Super Mag before turning in for the night, unplugged with 3.5" 00 Buckshot, 4 shots later 4 dead hogs and a couple more squealing as they bounced off the barbed wire yard fence. Needless to say they group has not returned.

Opening Sat I shot a pig with my bow, then my rest crapped out on me. So I broke out the MAC 90 and zip tied my ND-3 to the barrel. Sat nite I pig hunted, about 8:30 15-15 piglets and 7 bigger pigs came in. I pointed the ND-3 into the trees and turned it on. Slowly lowered light onto group and took about 3-4 minutes to be sure I was targeting a sow.
They never noticed the lite, but I think the trick is NOT to turn lite on directly at them. I think it's the sudden shadows that spook them.
