Parking near stand

So I bee wondering. I used to park my vehicle near my stand during rifle season or in michigan and still shot deer. But lately we park a few hundred yards away... I guess to hide vehicle from deer?

Is t necessary. Do deer really care about a vehicle whether truck or atv or utv sitting somewhere. Would it really keep them from traveling the way they were???

I know some people hunt out of vehicles with racks on them (rifle)... anyway. Just curious.

I think it depends greatly on the local deer and how accustomed they are to vehicles.

i personally dont like parking anywhere near my stand whether rifle or bowhunting. my brother on the other hand like to park right under it. hes killed lotsa deer too. go figure?

I park 300 or so yards from my blind here in Freestone county...

I park 250 yards or so, crow fly, 500 or so yards walking from my bow blind out west...

I park a mile or more away from any place on public land...



All about the scent and sound I guess. Now I have parked right behind my rifle stand and killed deer. It's up on top of a hill at the end of a peninsula, overlooking a creek bottom, 2 tanks and a flat. Makes for carrying the beer cooler easier!

I think it's more of the noise during approach than the sight of the vehicle.

How many deer do you think smell gas , oil, diesel, ect on there trails frequintly..HRS

We park about 30 yards from our stand and had 12 deer at the feeder this morning..

I have seen deer when I park 30 yards from the blind and 1/4 mile from the same blind.. I just the like the feeling of walking to the blind in the morning.. in a few more years I might just park 30yds from the feeder and hunt out of the campershell on the back of my truck !!!!

yesterday... i parked atv about 200 yds from my stand...deer musta found it and snorted at least 25 times....before it decided to leave...wind was blowing in opposite direction....so...guess it all depends on the deer...and maybe the pressure they have...
