Hunting in Denton county yesterday morning. A guy on the property behind us shot at this doe in the am and missed high. There was some hair and a small amount of skin on his Rage axe broad head. No blood. We looked for about 25 minutes and decided she would see another day.
I was sitting on a tree line about 70 yards from where he shot that morning. With about 5-10 minutes left of shooting light I hear her cross the creek and head my way. I could see a red stripe on her spine and knew this was the dpe he shot at earlier. No clue how she is still walking. Looked like a 6 inch gash fr the stand. Flesh clearly visible. I knew I had a had a small window to shoot. She was quartering to at at 20 yards and offset to my right about 8 yards. I decided I better try to end this situation. I was pretty anxious about the shot, but confident enough in my skills. Walmart broad*head took care of the rest. That's right, Walmart Torrid 100g mechanical. Never wanted to spend $10-15 on one broad head. Glad I killed it and the meat didn't go to waste. I'll never shoot anything else. Our propert is 5/5 so far on these things.
