    To catch a poacher

We have some tresspassers/poachers coming onto our lease. What is the best way to catch them? I need some good ideas. These guys are actually cutting locks and chains to get on the property and there is not a good spot to conceal a camera. All ideas are welcomed.

Dig a hole ten feet deep x eight x eight and cover in light branches, leaves and dirt. Place a bait of your choice in the middle. If caught, just cover the hole with dirt.

I would call the GW. I am not going to risk my life on land I lease or owned.

Call the GW, the local sheriff, and notify the landowner, if it is not you, I had a guy stealing the sd cards out of my trial cams and left him a very nasty note, which I cannot disclose the contents of, and told him I knew they were there and I had contacted the above authorities.
These guys really make me mad, hope you get them !!!

Have somebody drop you and a buddy off there. No vehicles there just lay up in the brush or a high vantage point with the ol scatter gun!!!

You could get some better chains and locks, or maybe conceal a spike strip just inside the gate and see how far they get with 4 flat tires.

Don't forget the sharpened rebar spikes driven in the ground at the bottom of said pit. Don't want them being able to climb back out.

We have only had this problem once. After we notified the GW me and my buddy did the above. We actually had a nice hide constructed and everything. We were able to video the tresspassers cutting fence and coming on our property. Needless to say the GW was extremely pleased with the footage as he was able to make the arrests that night.
