    Bow String Stop Question

So yesterday I saw a thread in the DIY section about homemade sting stops to add to your bow. I asked on that thread if you guys think that the string stop would benefit all compound bows? Or are the bows that come from the factory with a strong stop engineered to have one. And do ya'll know of any negative side effects from adding a string stop? Until I saw this thread this was something I had never considered adding before but it is very intriguing. I didn't get a response to this question in the DIY section so I am re-asking it here.

Mine's not a DIY, but if I ddin't already have one, I'd be putting one on my bow. If it doesn't help to quiet your bow, then take it off and you're out nothing.

I have on one my Alpha Max and love it! The bow did come with it on. I made one for my Reflex Timberwolf and Hate it! I took it off. Felt it did nothing for that bow but made it heavier.

Do y'all think adding one to a bow that wasn't designed with one could hurt the bow?

Doesnt it also create a consistent release point for the arrow, making your bow more accurate?

Yep. At least that's what the bowshop guys will tell you. I've heard guys say their groups get tighter because of a consistent point of release. You can also get rid of other string silencers (cat whiskers, monkey tails, etc...) and pick up a little speed without that stuff on the string. Not alot of difference but for the ones that like more speed.
