setting up a pop up blind before the hunt saturday?

i am fairly new to bow hunting and this will be one of my first times going out . my question is should i try to set up my pop up blind before the hunt saturday morning or sit underneath a tree? i will be hunting a feeder and i have a place to sit or have a place to set up my pop up blind. i have full camo for which ever i decided to do. any other tips are greatly appreciated.

if your going to sit underneath a tree try to get one with a lot of low hanging branches, then cut plenty of branches and brush yourself in real good its crude but works in a pinch.

I would definitely go with the popup before I would sit in the open... I would get there REALLY EARLY and brush it I'm a little bit.

I set up my pop up blind 2 weeks prior this year. Last year I set it up 2 days before opening morning and I had a doe come in and immediately she knew something wasn't right. She turned and walked away after stomping and blowing at me. She never saw me and wind was in my favor so she never smelt me.

If you can hide the blind really good in some thicker brush .. then you probably would be ok.

It would probably be a good idea to set the blind up and let the deer get used to it for a while before you hunt it. Deer will get nervous especially around a feeder. Give the blind a chance to pass the smell test a few times before you hunt it.

play the wind and spray down, be still and it may work for ya, never draw if the prey is looking at you!!

you are late on getting the blind out but if you can get it up tomorrow I would. It will be a lot easier on your first hunt to have some cover and not have to worry about as much. Also, if you are shooting fixed broadheads I would go ahead and use the shoot thru mesh because the deer will be less likely to get spooked by a black hole in your blind. If you decide to just sit you will still need to be brushed in well so you will need to do that tomorrow if possible. It will be very difficult to brush yourself in while it is dark. Also, either way you go you have to pass the sight, scent, sound tests. Make sure you take care of these three issues or you will get busted.

you can pop a blind up the day you hunt as long as you brus it in good.

I have set one up and 6 hours later shot a buck out of it. But the earlier the better for sure

As others have said it will be better than hunting on the ground but you need to brush it in good.

Another tip is wear black clothing inside the pop up. Most pop ups are blacked out on the inside and it will help hide you.
