    Anyone use a down vest?

Looking at getting a down vest for those cold winter days.

    Requirements:
    Warm
Camo or Earth Tone in color
    Quiet
    Quality (it needs to last).

I've seen them as cheap as $75 and as much as several hundred. Does anyone have a preferences????

For layering, I like prima-loft over down myself. It's thinner and easier to layer over, but still holds warmth like down. It's considered the "synthetic" version of down. I had a Sitka Kelvin vest that was my favorite piece of cold weather clothing while in a treestand. I lost a bunch of weight and sold it, and I bought an Under Armour "Armourloft" vest. It is very similar to the Kelvin vest.

I have one. It is so loud I use it for duck hunting now. Kind of a waste, but it is too loud for bow hunting.

I have a North Face down vest that is is super quiet and super warm. I use it as a base layer and it is amazing how well that thing works. It had a cost of $100 but it is an important piece of equipment for me.

Just get one of the Predator Fleece vests. I bought one from Mary at Bownanza and it rocks!
