Sure beats straight corn (6-8% protein). Pasture cubes work well too. They are about 20% protein. My deer eat what the cows leave behind. If you put some out near your feeder along with the corn, the deer will stay longer since it takes them longer to break up and eat the "cube". Good luck in your season.

Do these have to go in feeders or can you pour it on the ground? Will deer eat it when it gets wet?

Creep can be put on the ground. Creep swells when it gets wet ... so make sure if you put it in a spin cast feeder, that it doesn't get wet. I feed creep out of a five foot tube with a rain shield on it. Haven't had any experience with rice bran powder or pellet.

You talking about the big pellet type range cubes or the alfalfa cubes?

                    The big Alfalfa Cubes CW.

I was on a place with a few cows on it, and the rancher fed RC’s, and I noticed the deer coming in every evening after dark at the cattle troughs by the camp to pick up the cubes that dropped under the trough that the cows couldn’t get at.

It might take a little getting used to if they haven’t encountered them before. But the deer I was around loved them, and they last quite a while…. and a little rain doesn’t bother them.

It’s funny to see a deer with a cube hanging out of his mouth….

                    Good Luck !
