What happens if you run it on propane but fail to make the conversion from natural gas?

you're gonna have one hell of a flame. the oriface for natural gas has a bigger opening than for propane. NOT GOOD.

New jets for conversion are inexpensive and easy to do

Not worth the risk to not convert

Some of the cooktops i heve seen have the LP conversion jets and instructions attached to the underside, many of them just require a swap of jets and a flip of the gas regulator top (or pin underneath). it is a quick conversion most of the time.

                  Thanks folks!

Doing some cooking on a friends new cook top and it was not hit at all, ie took forever to boil a pot of water and I was wondering if thus may of been his problem.

                  Evidently not....
