I was a Wildland Firefighter for several years. Saw houses burn but never had to witness wildlife burned up like that. Flew over several fires as a helicopter crew member from Florida to Oregon. Most of the time the wildlife has a chance to escape.

While doing fire relief I got pictures of a tree rat. Looked like a bomb went off no ****. He was on all fours tail straight in the air and burnt crisp and solid. Also found a large hog. I feel for him the most. He went a long way on fire. His back was all burnt and his face was literally melted off. You could see his tracks in the ash for a long ways. He was running towards the fire. Well I guess he was in the fire but was running into the heart of it. I guess when you get swarmed you dont know which way is out.
