I just started shooting a Truefire hardcore release and it's the first time I've shot a hook style release. I put a new d loop on my string and have shot it about 150 times with the new release and its already fraying my d loop. Most of the time my d loop lasts a heck of lot longer than that. The material I used for this one is different that the stuff I usually use, so my question is to you guys that shoot a hook style release. Is it the release wearing on it or did I get a bad piece of string for the d loop. Are the hook style releases hard on d loops or what. I wouldn't think it would be any different, but I don't know anything about these releases. Thanks.

I have noticed the hook style being hard on loops also, but any release that has any kind of edge,(not smooth and rounded), tends to wear the loop, usually on top side.(more pressure)
I use really stiff loop material, and short loops so they stand out, and after stretching become very rigid.
I think target shooters like a softer loop material, but they're rarely in a hurry to hook up.
With my release, and loop material I use, the loop will last the life of the string
