Many moons ago a buddy of mine and I got in a hurry and decided we'd forego the step of attaching the safety chains of a gooseneck trailer, he was driving and hit a railroad crossing a lil too fast.
I'll bet y'all didn't know that the tailgate of a Dodge dually could fly at 60 mph. And also explaining how you got rear ended by your own goose and how and why exactly your tailgate is gone to your boss is not a good time, especially when the boss is also your buddies dad.

Reminds me of a time when me and a buddy left to go fishing about 3am one morning (and we were sober). When we got to the boat ramp and turned around to back the boat in - there was no boat and trailer on the truck. Scare the crap out of me. We had driven 30 miles and i never even looked behind me as it was night and all felt fine. Scared to death (cause it was my dad's boat and just imagining the boat had come off and killed someone) I started traveling back. Found it sitting on the side of the road right at the turn in for the boat ramp. From that day forward - never forgot to attach the saftey chains.
About two months ago I used a feeder to hold down some other materials etc for the lease. Got to the lease and feeder and materials were not there. Drove back 15 miles and all my stuff was stacked neatly on side of the road - the barrel had been hit and drug but noone one was there. Learned another lesson. Starp it down regardless of how heavy you think it is and doing away with the old philosphy "it aint going no where".
I really lucked out with both instances - sometimes really bad stuff happens when we take shortcuts.

Thanks to people not trying down stuff I have a whole warehouse rack full of coolers, probably 12 or so and I've even given some away..........I think I've bought one cooler and the rest of them came from off of the road and I've got coolers from small ones up to 150qt, my wife wants to crawl under the seat when we see a cooler now because she knows I'm pulling over to get it. Funniest one was when I stopped to pick up a 100 qt cooler lid (no cooler just lid), my wife said why are you picking up just the lid and I said because I'll find a cooler eventually w no lid, the next week I found a 100 qt cooler w no lid on the road! LOL
