    Ford 6.2 Gas engine Question

Anybody have solid info on this engine. MPG and power. You happy with it or not?
Thinking of getting a new F-250 and this is an option for me.
    Thanks......

i half it in my F150...the one in the super duty is different though from what i hear..something to do with the cams, it has slightly less power but i don't think it would be too much of a difference.
mine has tons of power and brings a big smile to my face every time i hammer on it. but the MPG brings a frown..i average around 12.3-12.6 ish in town and 17 on the highway

I have a 2011 F250 4x4 with the 6.2 and on the Highway I get about 15 MPG electronic display says I average 11.6 overall...thats a fair amount of idaling and driving ranch roads and right of ways. Seems to have planty of towing power. The transmission is kinda funny. Shifts hard and if you really get into it to pass someone or somthing like that it will down shift too low and just make a ton of niose and not go anywhere. I have learned to only go about half throttle in those situations and it will get on down the road. I have 34K on it and just had to have some kinda sensor changed out, covered under waranty. Overall I like it, I have always been a Chevy guy and when my company gave me this truck I was not thrilled, but I am now thinking my next truck just might have to be a Ford.

thats odd that when it downshifts low it makes noise and doesn't move..when i go to pass someone i'll be going 65 or so and go all the way down with the throttle and it will downshift to 3rd and really take off.

than again its not the super duty..

In the Raptor, your final drive gear ratio is killing the gas mileage. Also, you've admitted to having a lead foot

If the F250 isn't downshifting properly, tell the dealer the next time you take it in for service. There is a computer update that should fix the problem.

I also have the Raptor 6.2 and as Keeton pointed out, it's not the same 6.2 that is offered in other models.

              Its one mean motor
