ESPN reporting the PAC12 isn't taking anybody

    don't shoot the messenger!

The Pac-12 decided it won't expand further late Tuesday because commissioner Larry Scott couldn't get assurance that Texas would agree to an equal revenue sharing plan, a source with direct knowledge told ESPN.com.

    CBS reporting the same thing.

Talk about throwing another wrench in the whole deal.

Big 12 may stay together a little longer afterall. People can say what they want, but at the end of the day, a conference with UT and OU is relevant.

It's hard to believe anyone at this point given that everyone is out for themselves, but I'm not sure why the PAC would say this unless they were serious.

It's sort of like the ACC members voting unanimously to raise the exit fee to something like $20MM prior to accepting Syracuse and Pitt. Why would the schools vote for that if they were thinking about leaving.

Saw that a little while ago on the ticker. Doesn't surprise me though. I don't think they really wanted anyone if Texas wasnt part of the deal and they don't really want any part of the LHN. Horns probably were't willing to give up much. Of course I'm just speculating.

The SEC wasn't either when A&M said they were leaving the Big 12.

They might change their minds when the ACC goes to 16.

They have to say that so they won't look like the bad guys

Sounds to me like OU is calling some shots now. No Beebe and restructure the lhn.

sounds to me like OU is out of cards to play. if the rest of the Big 12 doesn't want to do what they want (oust Beebee) where are they going?

and I don't think this is cover. the SEC voted not to expand "at this time." the language was very vague and open. there ain't nothin' vague about this. the PAC 12 isn't getting bigger. some are saying that OU didn't have the academics and was flat rejected. but it seems this is a very emphatic slamming of the door, not like the SEC's "Um, not today, but maybe tomorrow."

I agree....I stopped following it on the Horn message boards and various sports outlets weeks ago. Every day there is a new "reported here first" super tweeter and rarely does any of it pan out or not get switched to something else the next day.....

I'm kind of angry that we AREN'T going to the Pac 12!!! Have you ever been down to a game in Phoenix and the women at the bars on Mill Ave?! I would love to be in the same pool or pod or bracket as ASU and U of A!!!! For the football? Heck no! The scenery? Heck Yes! IF that is wrong, I dare not be right.

Translation: PAC needs more give from Texas on the LHN so the ball is back in Texas court.
