Just called the cops....
I just had to call the cops and here is the story sorry for the punctuation and the long read this is some what a rant and to calm my adrenaline.
I was out in my backyard with my wife and kids, and to give you a little background I live in a pretty quiet neighborhood and I live behind I guess what you would call a shopping center where Burlington coat factory is at in Denton off of 35w and Dallas drive. We have been having numerous issues with people vandalizing and stealing things at the mall and then using our neighborhood as a scape goat. And me as well as all my neighbors are tired of these things happening in our neighborhood.
The Story:
Well this evening around 6:50pm my dogs started barking like crazy, I went to investigate and I noticed 3 juveniles running through the field next to my house and then stop at the end of my street which I am the last house and there is a dead end. I noticed the boys going through there backpacks pulling shoes and shirts out of the them and tearing what looked to be tags off the cloths and noticed them tossing the paper into the storm drain I also over hear them talking about how bad *** of stuff they just got and talking it up. As I am watching this I dial 911 and report that I seen what looks like to me stolen merchandise from the mall or Burlington coat factory and over hearing them talking about what they had just done. The boys then start to head down the road towards Dallas Drive, at this point I am telling the dispatch that they need to hurry or the boys are probably going to get away and I am not going to let this happen and may have to go out and stop them. She advises and is pretty stern to not to go out and there is a police officer right around the corner, a couple minutes later the patrol car caught up with them and the boys looked some what surprised luckily 2 more patrol cars showed up to help. They got 2 in handcuffs and started to put the other boy in handcuffs and he surprisingly started to put up a fight with all three officers and after a short scuffle the officers got him handcuffed as well. I am just glad they got them cause this is the 4th time calling the police just in the last 2 months cause of similar things like this happening. I just finished filling out the voluntary witness statement and the police officer just came and picked it back up after booking the boys in juvenile jail.
He thanked me generously and said we need more help from the community like this cause usually these kids get away with it and get big heads and confidence and then usually leads to breaking into cars and soon after that houses. He showed me his holster and it was all scratched up from going to the ground with the third boy and I made the comment those holsters are not cheap, and his reply to me was I know that is why he got a resisting arrest charge thrown onto the third boy as well.
I just thought I would let all my other brothers and sistas here on the GS to be vigilante in your community and don't be afraid to call the law for any kind of suspicious activity. We have a lot of neighbors that walk with there kids and there dogs and I already had 4 come by the house and thank me for what I done it is a good feeling to finally get some of them caught.
