Hi folks,
I'm new to the archery scene but it didn't take much (not even a kill) to get me hooked. My family was always big on fishing and not really hunting at all. I had buddies in high school that were and I'd tag along on trips up to the ranch in Nocona out of season to help with some varmint extermination but never bagged any big game. It was fun but I think the way I was introduced to hunting is the reason it never became a passion. And then I went on a bowhunt with my boss at his ranch in OK. Just waiting in the ground blind, being so close to your prey and seeing how much more went into bow hunting, I just had to get a chance to let an arrow fly. I did just that. Missed that sow just high, too. Apparently in archery, this weapon has to be that much more in tune with it's hunter than other weapons... And I just can't seem to get enough. I'm currently in ND for work and found this site while doing some research on bows and just had to join. I return home this weekend and plan to spend it slinging as many arrows through as many bows as I can at the pro shop until I find the perfect one and have it tuned just for me. I'm hoping that by next season I'll be a proficient marksman ready for a trophy and ready to join the brotherhood of TBHers. And I plan to chronicle this journey on here with the hopes that I can bring back some of your memories of your "first". Can't wait!
