Tag soup, who can beat this ?

Ok, just returned from Colorado elk hunt, could have shot 4 small bulls, 4 and 5 points, held out for a trophy because there were several around, had two 6 points inside of 40 yards, just could not close the deal, had a heck of a time. Now for the tag soup, I have a Yukon moose tag, Alaska moose tag, 3 Colorado elk tags, 4 Kansas white tail tags, and a slew of Texas deer tags, can anyone top it ?

I can't. Hey there is nothing wrong with having a tag unused if you were true to yourself and your expectations and not what someone may or may not think of you. It is all in the experience just as much and even more so than just the harvesting of an animal. Kudos to you for doing what made you happy. Now go and get started on your next adventures and have a great time.

By the way did I tell you I have tag envy.

I know the feeling, I just returned from Colorado about a week ago with my tag. I did shoot a nice bull opening morning but never found him.
We saw lots of elk, about as many bulls as cows and all the bulls were legal, at least 4 points or more on atleast one side. The three of us hunting, each had a bull within range on the same afternoon but just couldn`t close the deal.

I walked in between a momma bear and her cub right before dark one evening walking out. Yes, she got right up in my face and told me she wasn`t happy about it either. She charged in to about 8 yards, stood up on her back feet, looked down on me and then left to check on her cub. Talk about breaking out in a sweat!

I guess over the years I have 2 moose tags, 3 elk tags, 2 bear tags and several Texas deer tags left over to go in the pot.

You are the tag soup king!!

I've eaten tag soup 2 out of 3 years in NM even though I shot elk every year I've hunted there. Lost 2 bulls in 3 years.

I have my 2011 Kansas tag, hopefully it will get filled and that will be my desert for the tag soup. You know what is crazy, I have yet to kill an antlered animal with my bow, I am not shooting unless it is going on the wall or an obvious cull, I think this year is the year.
