I'm looking for a place to go next weekend (oct 1) with my 16 yo grandson along with a few friends - total of 5 - maybe 6 hunters - Friday eve thru Sunday morn. I live in New Caney north of houston - hoping to NOT drive to south tx to get this done, but I want to take the kid on a trip with lots of birds - anyone got any advice? know an outfitter that's not too expensive in the area??? help.

all you have to do is hunt water, that is if you have any, and you should be able to get your bags filled. I am counting down the hours, call me a sicko, but there is something about the smell of burnt gun powder and I can't wait.

we do have water... im not to worried about my limit as i have a few friends just getting into dove huntin and just wondering if there are a lot of birds in the area

only thing that could hurt is that they got a lot of rain. Some places as much as 6 inches that way.

Before the rain if you sat water you'd see a million birds.

Still lots of birds down here but sitting water might not be AS effective..
