With deer season right around the corner and our awful drought what will yall be doing instead of sitting around a fire? Every deer season it seems like we sit by the fire until midnight or so but that wont be the case this year. How will yall pass the time during the long nights?

In the last couple years I have got to where I dont even want to be around a camp fire. I would rather not smell like smoke. Days are gone that I get back from hunting and make a 7&7 and BS with everyone tilll the wee hours of the morning. Now hunting for me is coming in after the evening hunt, eating and shooting the bull with everyone then being in bed by 9 or 10 depending on what month and day it is. Then do it all over again at 5am. I have not had more than one alocholic beverage in a month in almost a year and it is the best thing I ever did, not that I was an alocholic, I never was but I sure like not having to worry about drinking tooo much and not getting up to watch the world come alive.

I hear ya'!!! I don't lease so I don't really have any campfire atmosphere anyway. I just come back to the house and play with my kids usually. I miss the days of having a lease...for that reason only.
