It's a fight never trust your opponent, always be on guard. And the ref needs to get reprimanded for that lack of attention. He wasn't even looking at the fight when that happened.
Ortiz could've gotten lucky with that finl flurry, but for the headbut, that is what killed it for him

I watched it several times....it was pretty clear that Ortiz did not protect himself after time was restarted by the ref...he seemed to have missed placed the golden rule of fighting...and it cost him..

And to be honest, If I got blatantly headbutted like that, your "Im sorry" would be worthless, and the minute the ref said go it would be on , would not matter if your hands were at your waist or not..

Thank u sir! Ortiz is a good (great) kid but he messed up. Was it pretty (nope) but it was clearly within the so-called rules! Ortiz still got a humogous payday.......hopefully he can do the right thing with that cash!

No you wouldn't. I say what he did was perfectly acceptable. I'm no big boxing fan not did I care who won, but Ortiz cheapshotted mayweathrr by head butt then mayweathrr knocked him out when he wanted to give him a hug after they tapped gloves. Come on guys

May of been a cheap shot but was fully legal imo. Ortiz apoligized and they bumped gloves at that point its back on. We had this discussion for about two hours yesterday at work and I know I'm in the minority here but Ortiz got whopped because he was to slow and wasn't on his toes. If he wants to hug in the middle of a boxing match maybe he needs a new profession! just my .02cents
