    Wildfire Help at State Parks

Got this from a Boy Scout Council email and thought I would post it here to spread the word:

Texas Parks and Wildlife has one need right away, but it would require some pretty specific connections to make it happen. The items in need are square bales of corn silage or wheat straw to use for erosion/sediment control. These two specific options are most desirable because they have the lowest chance of introducing weed problems and other undesirable plants at state parks.

If you have a contact with your county agent, a local feed store or other supplier and would like to help, please contact David Riskind, Natural Resources Director with the State Parks Division of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department. You can reach David at david.riskind@tpwd.state.tx.us or (512) 389-4679.
