    CPAP users help needed!!!

I have been trying to get use to the dang thing for about 4 months now. I have tried full face, nasal pillow, and nasal mask. I can do the full face mask way better then the other two but it still SUCKS. I can only take it for about an hour before I get so aggravated I rip it off. Am I the only one having this problem? Any suggestion on getting use to wearing it?

Nope, no suggestion other than keep with it. I've got one that uses water to help with keeping the throat and nasal cavity moist. It's more than just a snore stopper; it could save your life. Been wearing mine for about 4 years now. I hate it, but it beats the alternative, AND, I won't be mistaken for a bullfrog.

I even got a second one for the deer camp .
It took awhile to get used to but after that it just became part of my sleep

I have been trying to 6 months now. I have 3 full nights so far. Just stay after it. Even wearing it 3-4 hours a night has made a huge difference in my energy levels

I have tried ever setting on the thing. I have had it adjusted by the sleep center several times. It does not help that I sleep really light. everytime the seal breaks or it ramps up to higher pressure it wakes me up. To make it worse after I get woke up there is no going back to sleep. I am up for the rest of the night

I definitely feel your pain! You might get with your physician to see if he can recommend a different style mask or head straps. Personally, I've settled on the nasal pillow because it is less intrusive and more comfortable, but that's me, not you. I don't always sleep well with mine and sometimes throw it off, too. But when I can make it all night, I feel ten times better the next morning.

Do a search on "sleepweaver full face mask." I can't speak from experience because I haven't tried them yet, but I think I'm eventually gonna bite the bullet and give it a try.

That thing bothers you, but think how your wife feels with you snoring all night. Either you sleep or she sleeps, but not both, I guess.

                          Keep at it

Once you get used to the mask you'll think man I never knew sleep could feel so good. I used to wake up as tired as I was when I'd go to bed, but once I got on the cpap, I didn't know you could feel so good waking up. Hang in there.

I couldn't make myself even try it. I use a dental device that pulls my lower jaw forward just a little bit. That keeps the airway open. The one I have is a custom one made by my dentist but there are alot of them on the market that will let you try it to see if the concept will work for you. One of them is called snoremender at snoremender.com it cost 57.00. It is not as comfortable as the molded one but it does work and my wife swears by me using it. You can try that and if it works for you you can investigate getting the custom fit one. The only down side of the snoremender is that it will hold your mouth open slightly so your tongue dries out a bit but your sleep and snoring will improve dramatically. It is small, fits in your shaving kit (I travel alot) so you can use it anywhere to include hunting camp.

                              Good luck
