    Bowhunting in a ghillie suit

I just bought a Ghillie from Gander Mtn. Anyone else use one during archery? Any issues with the loose strings geting hung up in the bow string or cables?

BTW, they have a pretty good deal going on. 5 pc set (top, bottoms, head net & gun wrap) for $59.99

I've got a strip of ducttape on the inset of my left arm (right handed bow).. just to keep it tucked out of the strings/cables,

That is a good deal. I bought a 3d bug suit from bass pro a while back and I think it was like 60 bucks. No gun wrap though. not that I need it. I use mine all season and it works great especially while stalking deer. I also use it in a tree stand with no problems shooting. You'll like it.

yes, them things get hot though. does the ghillie suit match the terrain you're going to be hunting at?

edit: are you talking about the 3D or burlap?

Its a ghillie, not 3D. But its pretty light weight. Light nylon mesh base fabric in Mil Digi Woodlands, then there are threads of fabric sewn into the base layer.

Its not prefect for my area, especially this year since everything is brown and gray. but i think it will work fine.

I actually got it more for spring turkey season.

Good deal, best part is that you can always pick up local vegetation and twigs to match your background.
Enjoy the suit. I love mine!!!

I use a ghille suit when bow hunting and it's not too warm out. To keep the material out of the bow strings I use this compression sleeve. Got it at Cabela's. They have them in the glove section of the store. 19.95.

I havent shot with mine on but I will probably try it in the next couple days and see if there are any issues. Got it mainly for predator huntin but have been thinkin about using it to stalk with my bow

This will be my first year going out with a ghillie suit. I didn't get one specifically for bow hunting, but a regular one. Hope it works out well. The BDU bow hunting ghillie jacket looked pretty cool but was out of my price range since it didn't include pants.

It's been my experience that a ghillie suit walking through the woods will scare the resident cows into a full blown fence busting panic. Guess they ain't used to walking bushes.
