Whats Wrong With This Deer?

These are pics of a young deer that has black spots growing on it and it looks like one might have ripped open on his back leg, anyone ever seen anything like this before?

Those are just fibromas, its nothing to be concerned about and does not hinder the quality of the meat. They are similar to warts on people, simply ugly to look at but have no health risks. The only times they can be serious is if deer get large numbers on their face and it inhibits their ability to feed or water.

Maybe he got caught up in a fence or something on the back leg???????????

and yes he sure looks to have tore up his back leg. That however is something that could lead to infection. If could affect the meat quality if you or someone else harvests that deer.

I don't think he is young look at his nose and brisket I think he is a extremely old buck.

The black things are deer warts, very common and harmless. I don't know about the tear on his leg, maybe hung it on a fence.

Looks like he got hung up on a fence and it pulled the skin down his thigh. Looks like the skin is bunched up at the bottom of the wound.

Not sure about the black spots.

The laceration on the leg could be due to either a fence, yote or big cat.
