If your just going to use it for bowhunting the Nikon Archers choice... If your going to use it for other things get the Rifle model and use it for both...JMHO
i have the new leupold rx1000 in shipment from cabelas as we speak.
Just checked out range finders this past weekend and the leupold rx1000i and 1000i TBR are the best range finders IMHO. They do come with a price but they are amazing. I wount ever buy a range finder without a red retical after looking through these too. Along with other reason, These are my opinion

Make sure the reticle is either lighted or easily visible when looking through it. I have a leupold RXII TBR and if it is early or late, sunrise or sunset, cloudy, even slightly dark it is hard to read any of the settings or see the reticles when using them....
Yeah but that is last years model. Get the new one with DNA technology. Basically they made improvements over last year and from what I was told, the newer version has the ability to be updated if they release new software. There were some problems with the first model that they worked out with a software fix. Supposedly nobody is having problems with the new RX1000i's.
