    Feeder Question

What is a good distance between the spin plate and the funnel?

    #2
I always try for about 1/2". Any less and it won't throw much and can get hung up. Any more and the wind can blow the kernels out. If you can stick the tip of your index finger about halfway up the fingernail you should be about right.

3/8" is where mine are set.

I take my index finger and put it between the funnel and spinner plate. That has always worked good for me and I don't have to carry a tape..

Kinda like they are saying but will run a test a few times and tweek in the distance so it will throw kernals a good distance but not hang up or have the wind empty the feeder...

According to my micrometer, about .523456789 inches. Never had any issues with wind or hang ups.

3/8 for me, and that minimizes wind loss. If it isn't throwing enough corn, just up the time.

I've never put a micrometer on my fingernail but I will try tomorrow. It only goes to two decimal places though
