    Batteries KEEP Going Dead

I have a 07 Ranger 519vx With a 3 bank on board charger and 36v system. About every 2 months my batters won't charge back up... There has to be an issue somewhere but I don't really know where to look. I had my mechanic look everything over and the batteries are hooked up correctly. Any ideas???

TFF WAS ABSOLUTELY NO HELP... AGAIN! I should've know to come here first.

Does it do it throughout the year? Extreme heat and cold are hard on batteries.

I would be taking a look at my onboard charger. Could be overcharging them

Steve, does your boat have a master power switch like mine? If so and if you dont switch it off, some things on the boat continue to drain the batteries. Also, what batteries are you running? Is the water level in them getting low?

Batteries are brand new... There isn't a master power switch but there is a breaker and I do turn it off. The charger blinks when I plug it in. That means there is something wrong with the charger or the batteries. When I take the batteries back and put new ones in they charge for a couple of months and this happens again.

Which batteries exactly are dying. Everything in your boat (aerator, lights, whatever) runs off your cranking battery. Only your trolling motor will run on 24/36 volts. If it's all of your batteries I would stick with the charging issue. If it's one or the other you have something drawing power.

It's never the same battery or bank light that flashes... It is my 36v trolling batteries. When they go down, I change out all 3

Have you tried disconnecting your trolling motor or is the breaker you mentioned for the trolling motor? Could be a bad circuit board in the trolling motor causing a constant drain.

That's a thought Ed, I'll give that a shot That would be about my luck too, having to replace a 109lb thrust trolling motor rather than a a charger...
