    Ghillie Suit with a bow?

Has anyone used a ghillie suit while bowhunting? Seems to me like the suit would get in the way of the string. The ghillie suit sure would work well where I hunt in Kansas but I don't want to invest in one if it's not going to work very well with a bow.

Let me hear the good, the bad and the ugly!

I started a thread about this last month, you should be able to find it pretty easy

I use one with my trad equip. You can get plenty close to just about anything, even turkeys, but you still have to move to draw, and then it's usually game over. As far as getting in the way, it does and you'll have to get your wife or a friend out with you and pull your bow, and let down in slow mo a couple of times, trim off the obvious, then launch a couple of arrows and trim until nothing gets in the way anymore. It's my favorite way to hunt, and they do hang on every piece of brush, thorn, and sticker out there.(avoid cockleburr patches at all cost)

I am going to bowhunt in one opening weekend. Tried it out 2 weeks ago to see if it was possable. Sat in a field that deer come through. She would have walked right up on me if I wouldn't have tinkered around with my camera to get a photo. In short all the moving I did with camera and she still left me plenty of time to shoot her with my bow.

                They work well.
If you're worried about it getting in the way, I'd leave your bow are uncovered.
                That should help the situation.

Hunt in one all the time, mines snug enough with no issue but sometimes it helps to have a ARM guard but I haven't needed one yet

Just bought one. Had to trim left arm and left chest. Can't wait to try it

They work great if you take the time to practice and do the necessary trimming.

Cabela's has a couple of arm guard sleeves that will keep the fibers away from the bowstring. Click image for larger version

I use a 3D suit sometime in the summer. I have an arm gaurd, but have also heard about using a dark colored sock over your bow arm to keep it free of your string.

                          see above post......
