The Droid seems to be a little more robust and expandable but I am so use to my iPhone (and numerous iPods), this Droid is a pain for me.

I am good with the iphone. I'm just tired of it screwing up. It just started deleting phone numbers a couple weeks back. I was getting calls and messages from numbers I didn't know, GF's iphone4 started doing the same thing. I'm always looking for something different.

Runkeeper is an awesome app if you run or bike outside. It tells you how far you've gone and what your pace is. It also uploads your route, pace, stats, and elevation to a website so you can keep track of your workouts.

TuneIn Radio is a great way to listen to radio stations all over the country. I use it to listen to the Ranch in Dallas.

A good media player. I use Winamp. It's OK, but not great.

Shazam to ID songs you don't know.

just an FYI... i read that running task killing apps actually do more harm than good. Google it.

Android task killers improve your phone's performance while also boosting battery life—or at least that's the much-debated promise. Here's a look at h

ummm... you run and sweat with your phone!?

I did that one time (not run) but was working on truck sweating (phone in pocket), and it was ruined. how do you manage that? not being a smart arse real curious because I do run, and would like to keep track

I workout at the hottest part of the day (110 outside, and 115 in garage).

FYI on Advanced Task Killer (ATK), most cell phone distributors are recommending NOT putting this on your phone. When Android 2.1 was out it was necessary to help battery life but every version after that (Froyo - 2.2 and Gingerbread 2.3) has task management built in and ATK can actually do damage to the phone by stopping critical processes. Just thought you should know

Thanks for all the help and suggestions. So no on the task/app management tools. I have already installed one of the free ones. Can't afford to be jacking this new phone up.

Otterbox. It's the only way to go. I'm notoriously hard on stuff and work outside a lot so this is the only way I've found to keep my phone safe. Order it on Amazon and it's a lot cheaper.

I just wish they made one for my pistol. Running with it has seriously taken its toll on the finish.

When you install apps on a phone they use certain system processes to function (kind of like a computer) and when you kill the app with ATK (or other task management apps) it can stop those processes. Some of the worst cases I've heard of is ATK stopping the boot loader process and when the phone was rebooted it was basically turned into an expensive paper weight. Others were not as bad including processes dealing with the display, power etc. The newer Android releases limit the number of background apps and manage the memory for you so there really isn't a need for those apps anymore. Just a friendly word of caution.

I need to check out some of these apps. I just picked up my new droid bionic this morning. This thing is fast and awesome!!

Of course, coming from a BB Storm 1 anything is an improvement.

For all of you music people, check out spotify. It's a streaming audio program that you can search any artist and play any song you want. Unlike something like Pandora that plays something in the genre. I have it on my laptop and it's sweet. I tried to install on my droid, but it wants me to upgrade to a premium account. With premium, you can save songs, play lists, etc. It's like having all of your music stored on the internet.
