    Anyone had this happen before?

I shot a big spike this weekend with Rage two blade broadhead (sorry, no LDPs posted, I'm saving those for Muy Grande). The shot was 18 yards and I double punched the lungs. When the arrow hit him, he staggered and let out a VERY loud, "Blahhhhhhh." He then took off on his death run.

I've never heard a deer "yell" when hit with an arrow or bullet. Anyone else have this happen?

I shot one with a Montec G5 once and had the deer turn and look at me and say, 'Hey...that's not funny. Someone could lose an eye".

The first deer I ever shot did this. My old man told me it happens all the time. I think he was just trying to make me feel better cause I haven't heard it in the many years since. He later told me that was the first time he had ever heard it.

Had a doe do that this year but she was hit in the backbone. I have heard of others that did but all were spine shots.

yea i have heard a deer do that before. It might just be him trying to fill his lungs with air or all the air escaping at once. I don't know, but every time i've heard the deer was on the ground about 5 seconds later.

It's pretty common for a spine shot deer to "bawl"... back in the old days in E.Texas, olf folks used to say it "always happened when you were trying to be quiet"... like hunting at night with a one eyed beagle, "hop-hunting" or other times when you need to be stealthy. I've not had it happen to me with a bow, but had a running spike do it once when I shot him... hit him right in the spine... it was a blood curddling sound. It would be ok with me if I never heard it again...

Man, if this deer sounded off the way he did with a double lung shot, I am darn sure glad I did not spine him. Our neighbors across the fence would have thought some kind of "Deliverance" was going on.

I shot a doe Monday evening that "bawled" really loud. Before I could get out of the stand the guy hunting with me, about 100 yrds from me, came running. He thought I had fallen out of the tree and was moaning in agony. It really freaked him out! he had never heard it before.

Spine shot a pretty good buck one time and he "yelled"

Never seem it any other time tho.
