Updates on Columbus/Mentz fire?

Anyone hear anything?

Last I heard it jumped I10 but was contained on that side and was still burning uncontained on the South side

Matt I went through there on Monday afternoon and didn't see where it had jumped i10 in fact from 10 you couldn't see anything burnt. Didn't notice much smoke either. I assumed that it was out.

Dewight Mazac was on the local news today and reported US Fire Service is finishing up dozing the outer circle. No more fires but will patrol for hot spots for the next 2 or 3 days.. Never said anything about jumping 10

Ok a TBHer from that area had said it jumped 10 but was quickly contained and put out. Good news.

We got some pics of it coming back to H-town.

Mom said KVLG Radio reported that the Mentz Church burnt down but later retracted and stated that there were some out building that did burn down but that the Mentz Church still stands and is OK.

Apparently, over a 1000 acres were burnt.

Not sure on how many homes were burnt.

My Aunt lives in Mentz and its at her back fence.Hopfully wind will lay and maybe change direction and save her deer behind the high fence.She's got some real good deer would be a shame that the fire got to them....

O man!!! That is no good. I would be extremely depressed if that happened. Sorry to hear.
