I am turning to GS for y'alls expertise on tree climbers and tree placement.
The manual says the max size on the tree is 20" in diameter. Now, that's hellvua hard to find a good tree placement on our ranch. I found a little bit bigger, around 25" - 30" diameter that will work for my location because everything else is either too small, too big, too short or dried out and about to break and fall off.
My plan was to hang the tree ladder, it's 20' and then hang a tree climber just above the thick limb hanging over for my bottom platform to stand on and then the main trunk tapered off and may be 25" where my seating platform will be placed. I plan on leaving there until bow season is over or until Primos get me a new replacement.
Can I hang my tree climber on 25" or am I crazy for trying to do that against the manual's limit. I'm 6'2" and 260# and the climber's limit is 300#
The reason why I am submitting to Tree Climber now than previous post on other thread about not using this year because of the trees that are, like I just mentioned above. Last Sunday, the high wind broke my Primos' predator blind's ceiling cross member and now I got nothing to hunt out of except my gorilla tree climber that's sitting in garage unused and is brand new, I might as well get it up there and hunt out of a tree. Yes, I am desperate but not crazy enough to forsake safety of my life!
Primos' customer service has been busy all day and couldn't get through them at all AND No, this is not a rant or vent.
Any advice out there will be greatly appreciate. Yes, this is my first time ever to use any kind of tree climber. It'll be my first bow season. I want to make sure I am going to be safe and come home in one piece to my family. I do have harness, all the safety equipment, everything I need for it.
Thanks in advance.
