According to a friend of mine who lives down there not much has been impacted yet but they are expecting tourism to boom and to generate lots pf profit for local businesses as soon as it is all completed.

lol If this turns into a big boom for tourism which I think it will I can imagine the city getting some wealthy investors of all types. I can definitely see how buying some property out there might pay.

I am thinking it will be, especially when you think about the type of people who be able to afford to go on such a trip. Money and growth will be there.

It's about 45 miles out to the spaceport from Cruces. About 35 miles from T or C.
