Need input on painting utility trailer

I want to sand and repaint the portions of my utility trailer that have been hammered by pulling it down gravel roads. I thought about having it Rhino lined but not sure I want to spend that kind of money.

What would you guys recommend for getting this back to looking good as well as protecting it from any further rust. The trailer is not very old and I really like it so I want to keep it nice for years to come.

Any input on steps in prepping it for painting/coating would be appreciated as well.

Repaint with rustolium, then add some polished alluminum daimand plate shields...

I have a very similar trailer and have had to repaint the fenders every couple years. I just hand sand and use a wire wheel to get it down to bare metal then prime and paint. I've been considering riveting a piece of galvanized to the front of the fenders where they get beaten by gravel hoping that will protect the paint.
