I have a fixed, double pane, vinyl window over my front door with the decorative bars in between the panes. Is there a way I can get these out so its just a clear window with no bars/grid? The window is about 3' long x 1' tall and is a Krestmark brand.

no the glass is an insulated unit . If the muttons are internal you can not get them off. If they are applied mutton on the face of the glass you can get them off.Comment

I t could be done but you would probally break one of the panes, even a glass shop would prob charge you for new glass just to attempt it. but it can be done most of the time.Comment

Do I have to change the frame, or can I just replace it with a double pane clear glass?Comment

Most of the ones i have seen you can remove the double pane panel and leave the frame in then a glass shop or handyman could rework the panel without the grid inside.Comment

You don't have to change the frame just order a new IG(insulated glass)Comment

Double pane windows are filled with argon gas and breaking the seal will greatly reduce the insulating properties of the two panes. Have a glass company come measure it and replace it. It's the only way.Comment
