Anyone have a dog that's eating acorns like candy... then puking all over the place? A buddy told me they can be toxic, as I watched his munching down on a mouthful of 'em. Can't beat the little dude for pukin', but I can't leave him out all night for coyote bait, either.

My pup is eating them like crazy but is not puking from them. I had always heard they were toxic to them as well. -
They are toxic to cows. Most cows won't eat them, but once they get a taste for them that's all they will eat until death.
You might want to talk to your vet about it. None of my dogs eat acorns and they are constantly surrounded by them.Comment

Thanks for the input. My other two dogs don't touch them. He just seems to think they're good for him. I wonder if he may be trying to lose a litlle weight on his own...

looks like we have figured out a way to get rid of the acorn problem and its effects of keeping deer away from our feeders and stands

My mutt eats acorns and pecans like they are candy (he also eats blackberries off of the vine). But my basset only eats pecans. They've been at it for a couple of weeks now and now problems. At least that I know about.Comment
