      I bet he'd make 13, but just barely. But, if it were me, he looks awfully scrawny and young. I'd personally have a hard time shooting such a barely legal buck, ESPECIALLY if there was any doubt in my mind. Not worth a ticket, probly. After another year he'd probably be really good.

                There is a second buck in the photo. I am using these pics to help my grandson judge what is legal or not legal. None of these are shootable as they currently reside inside the city limits of Bandera. Great to drive around and be able to take pictures of some great deer. Never seen this many in one place back in east Texas.

                  Ears in alert position
                  are approximately
                  13 inches apart and
                  may be used to judge
                  the inside spread.
                  That being said this deer's ears are in the relaxed postion easily putting him over 13"
