    Snake bit dog

Well despite 2 snake breaker sessions Blue got hit by a copperhead tonight. Same snake struck at my youngest son but just grazed him so he was lucky.

Hope everyone is ok. I looked into those snake sessions and am still undecided. However, I did get to snake shot for our dog from our vet. It's supposed to help recovery from pit viper bites. It's a once a year shot. Maybe something to check out if your in an area with copperhead, cottonmouths or rattlers.

I know it sounds bad but good thing it was a copperhead, usually a benadryl and they are ok

Had a baby rattler bite my Dachsund on the side of his face years ago. His face swelled up like a big balloon on the right side of his face. Took him to the vet. Don't remember what he gave him but he recovered ok. Hope your dog is ok.

Snakes smell different. Had dogs rattler trained that could not smell a Copper Head....

My dogs kill all the snakes they find. They get bit sometimes, just give them a benadryl and they are fine in a day or so.

I've had 2 boykins hit by cottonmouths. Ridiculous swelling but vet will give benedryl, antibiotics and pain stuff and dog will be fine.

Brent, look into cedarcide. Rumor has it it will keep snakes out of the yard. May be good for close to your house.
