    Young Co.

who hunts there ? And what processor do yall use for both pig and deer? Im in a new place, so lets hear it!

i somewhat hunt there...mostly in throckmorton county but i live in graham..clear fork is what a lot of people use for processing but i don't really recommend them..extremely high and more than once a friend of ours did not get all his meat back. I don't really know of others i know there is one around olney i believe and the prices are good. but we do our own processing.
where are you at in young county?

We hunt in Loving/Jermyn area. I used Clear Fork last year, but was not very impressed with them. Syrcuse is the best I've ever used, and it will be where I go back to this year.

My lease has the Throckmorton/Young Co line going right through the middle (west of Olney). We used to go to the processor in Olney, but they closed year before last. They were good and reasonable.
We started using Clear Fork in Graham. I really liked them year before last. But they appeared to have changed hands last year and I'm not as thrilled. They are rather pricey, but they are the closest thing I know of to our lease. (Under prior ownership, they would contact those that hadn't picked up that lived in DFW and schedule a post-season pick-up at Cabelas, which saved me 1.5 hours of driving.)

J&J processing in Graford isn't bad. It's a bit of a drive, but they did a good job and were quick. Also, I believe there is a place in Throckmorton that last year did the Hunters for the Hungry program.

Clearfork is in Graham, but like said above I don't recommend them. Expensive and not very good sausages, smoked or summer. I do my own, but if I was going to take one somewhere it would probably be Fischers in Muenster. I've used Baycos in Seymour and it was ok.

Escalon’s Buck ‘N Hog Processing in Throckmorton is shown on the web page as participating in the HFH. There's one in Stephens county and Syracuse also participates in it. Syracuse is good, just not convienent for me. I hunt between Newcastle and Throckmorton. I've used Clear Fork and it was a little pricey. I go thru Graford on way home. So J&J is an easy stop for me. I looked up the HFH info, so I could donate any animals I didn't want and save a few dollars.

I do all of my own. Paid for a grinder, sealer and stuffer for half what a processor charges for 1-2 animals. Saved myself some good coin last year. I will do the same this year as well. I'm in Jermyn/Loving also.
