              looks good, I made some like that once and welded a V of angle iron every 6' to keep it away from the tree and to give it something to "bite" with.

                    Why would you want to leave it in one piece?
                    I also make my own and cut mine in 5 ft sections and make it 20 ft total and use the other 4 ft to make my steps out of. Makes it so much easier to haul, carry, and set up.

                      You might start at 24' but most of the places I hunt if you get 24' up a tree you are going to severely limit yourself on what you can see or shoot area wise

                        True. Im just lucky that my dads place has still got very tall pin oaks and white oaks. I remember when i was a kid getting drove all over east texas and those woods were everwhere. Shame most of its gone. Ive been thru your area before. That some pretty countyrside.
