Call the AT&T office in San Antonio and ask for External Affairs and/or Asset Protection.

I am sure a few people won't like this comment but GW Bush had a limp handsake. Met him in 2008 when I had to drive his staff around San Antonio for a visit. Being in the military you can almost tell how a leader is going to lead by their handsake and I am pretty sure the OP can agree with me on that one.

My father in law shook GW Bush hand I'll have to ask him if he got same H.Shake.
I think some people are just nervous and don't realize they are giving a wimpy handshake. To my knowledge I have never shaken a military persons hand without getting the firm handshake.

Very good advice... HOWEVER... a GOOD social engineer(aka con man, salesperson, ), would know that confidence overcomes question, and will shake your hand like a man even when he's trying to scam you...
Very good on you for spotting his badge date...
The easiest way to gain unauthorized access into a network, is through its human components... contact someone in the organization that is NOT in a technical role, explain yourself as the "new guy" and that you've been told to check such and such...
Net security is what I do... I've learned these things specifically to combat them... Sadly there's always the weak link that says "but he looked legit!"... on behalf of your system admins and security engineers, I thank you for thinking that through...

Interesting thread. I agree with the firm handshake, but was surprised to see the woman's point of view on it. I will ALWAYS open a door for a lady and have always taken a woman's hand gently when shaking it? I prefer hugs over handshakes from the ladies any way, right Chickenwing? So, I asked my wife about all of this. She asked me to show her how I shake a woman's hand and agreed it was proper, but after telling her what the ladies here had to say, she saw their point too. She admitted she doesn't shake a lot of hands but said she'd pay closer attention next time and report back. :-D

Yep, my Granddad and Dad would do the same, but like "old shrimper" and "AndyTX" have said I was taught and I have done the same with my son.
I think that is what is wrong with alot of youngmen today is they were not taught how to be or act like a gentleman. When I meet someone I do not judge them on their handshake but how they act and if they respect the people around them, most of all if they respect themselves. I was also taught that if you want respect then you must earn it and it is alot easier to lose respect than it is to earn it. jmo.

In a non-business situation, I'll shake a person's hand initially, then offer it again on the next meeting encounter. My experience has been that most men refuse the shake and go for the hug on the second occasion since we now "know" each other. And that's fine, too!
Oh, and please know that a woman always appreciates the door-opening, ladies first treatment! I've heard stories of woman who got all huffy about being offered these common courtesies, but I've NEVER personally witnessed any examples myself...and I've traveled a lot on business over the course of my career.
