    Webb County report

Our lease (7000 acres low fenced.)got rain last Thursday. About an inch.

I pulled camera cards, checked protein, etc. Bucks looked in pretty decent shape. Horns were better than I expected. We do have tanks with water still in them. Also, I did see does with fawns so not a total die off.

Have not gone through all the pics but did see a few deer I recognized. Of those, horns were about the same as last year. A couple of 10's are now 9's.

Lots and lots of doves. Whitewings and mourning. More than I can recall seeing.

Biggest surprise was driving from back of lease to camp at 7:30 p.m. Saw 9 different coveys of quail. Both blues and bobs.

We also have scene quit a few Bob's and Blues along with several coveys that consist of Parents ans smaller birds. Don't know how they did it with the drought but they did. Buck are about the same as liast year with a few putting on a few more inches. Heading down this weekend to check camera's and maybe stick a pig or two.
