I have an 05 6.0 and I low it. Haven't had any problems with it and I'm at 132k miles I run rotella in it also. My buddy use to run the expensive amsoil in his 03 and that crapped out at like 120k.

05 with 115, no problems as well. Have a programmer and exhaust. Thinking about doing studs, egr delete, and oil cooler rebuild. Or I may just sell it and buy a used 2011 once I get this promotion I'm up for lol. I love my 6.0 though and I drive it like I shouldn't but she keeps on keepin on.

Tony are you talking about matts? His had more like 180k when his crapped out.

I also just run the ford motorcraft oil since I let them do my oil changes and fuel filters. Don't know if it helps or not. Like Tony stated our buddy ran the expensive amsoil and it still crapped out, but I think it may have been the person who owned it before him who drove it like heck and the bully dog he had on it. Have heard they are hard on the 6.0s.

If you're gonna program it buy an sct and get it custom tuned

Stay away from the 6.0 I had an 04 lemon law replaced it with a 05 piece of junk nothing but problems. I now have the v10 and I like it.

Had a 03 FX4 6.0. Bought it in 04 with 40k on it and traded it in last year with 230k on it. I had a straight pipe, intake, and programmer on it. I was young and in the Marines at the time, and I raced EVERYBODY that was willing. I pretty much kept it to the floor for 200k miles. At 230k I started having injector problems and traded it for a half ton. Until that point it was the best truck I've ever owned (other than my 99' 5.9 Cummins).

ok well can anyone point me in the direction of a truck that has had all the good work done like the erg delete or a 7.3 liter. i have to get one asap before the baby gets here. Or can anyone recomend a diesel that can comfortable fit 2 booster sets and a backwards facing car seat with 2 adults and possible a 4.5 foot 6 year old( my son).

I have an 06 with studs, egr delete, programmer, and intake. Only way to with an 06. Interior is way better than the other two.

Get ya a 7.3 excursion have had 3 of em and love em. Have an 04 with the 6.0 now. Just had to change regulator in alternator @ 188k miles.

Check on trucktrader.com and if you find one, get someone to run an Oasis report to find out if or how many times it has been back to the dealer for repairs.

Driving a 1997 f250 7.3 with 240,000 would drive it anywhere. Oh and been using Rotella T from day one. Change it every 5,000. Getcha one
