Way to id/date varmint leg trap?

Found this on a ranch in Yorktown that my buddy inherited. Is there a way to date something like this?..ie..manufacture?

I don't think is is that old, might be from the 70's or 80's, when fur prices were up!

It's an old victor longspring, looks to be a #3 could be a 4 hard to tell from the pics. All the info your wanting to find is on the trap pan (the piece that's the most rusted ) which means you probably not gonna find much. It's nothing old or rare they're still pretty common and easy to get nowadays. Might check under the bottom strap and make sure there's no US stamped on it that would make it gov. property.

Looks like a # 4. The jaws on the # 3 are narrower.

Thanks for the positive ID. Didn't notice the V in the trap pan till now.

So....do I just mail it back to Washington D.C.?

Definitely a Victor, ran many a line with those same traps in the early '80's!
