I put in for about 23 hunts (adult and youth hunts) and didn't get squat. Not sure on that one, but I thought all the deer hunts had been drawn.

I was picked for Pronghorn 3 years ago. I must have used up my mojo because I haven't been picked for squat since. I even have 6 preference points for javelina.

TPWD's biggest scam yet...I quit applying after not getting a sniff for 6 years...applied for everything and not drawn for anything...gave up, quit sending them money...if they want more money from me they'll have to raise license prices.

My son and I have been drawn for a few hunts and a couple were really fun! I got real lucky this year and am headed down to Chapparall for a management buck hunt in Jan. Don't give up! It's simply just the luck of the draw!

It's 3 dollars per application. I think that's a fair price for the opportunity they provide. You have to look at the odds and permits available. I don't expect to get drawn for the Big Horn Sheep hunt, but I apply anyway.

I applied for 12 hunts this year plus 7 youth hunts (free to apply and free to hunt). I was drawn for 2 hunts and 1 youth hunt. Not bad for $36.00.

Exactly how do you go about applying for all these hunts?

                              How do you figure??
I've been drawn for at least one hunt in the past 6 or 7 years. Except for this year, been drawn for Archery 3 years in a row. My son has been drawn for a youth hunt 2 years in a row. Just started applying for him last year. There is a trick when applying. Look at everything, then go back and look again. Don't let the hunters success dictate where you apply.
Now, if you apply for the places where they have 20 permits, and 3,000 people applied, yeah, your odds of going are very slim, no matter how many points you have.
If you never get drawn, don't let that stop you. Go as a stand by. 4 out of 5 times I went as a stand by, I got to hunt.
