    What do I do......

..... So I go out to my truck Monday morning and notice that my key area of the door has been punched through with a screw driver or something similar. The thing is I don't really know when it happened and don't think it happened on my driveway because our bedroom is right there.

I don't think they made it in because I had gps, check book, pistol, binoculars, and I-pod in the console.........

But my question to everyone on here is should I get this fixed because the truck locks fine and I know this is happening a lot on Ford Super Duties or what?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Its a Ford F350 Super Duty Dually.

My last truck and the one I have now have both been broken into by the same method. They're sticking a screwdriver in the key slot and forcing it open.

First time all they got was an address book, I guess they thought it was a checkbook. The second time they got a cell phone, iPod, GPS. I had my pistol with me and they didn't see my checkbooks or camera.

Regardless if they can see something in your truck or not, if it looks promising, they'll break into it. To avoid getting things stolen, just don't leave them in your truck.

Whether you get it fixed or not, is up to you. They can break into it again whether you do or not.

It was pretty easy for them to get into the first time wasn't it? Not being a smartass, just making a point.

Actually, I have. On a tahoe. I can't see it making it any more/less difficult to do a second time, it's not really hard to begin with. I replaced mine because I didn't want a hole in my door handle. Aesthetic

If I remember correctly it's an expensive fix. I wouldn't fix it until I was ready to sell or trade it in, because it's going to happen again.

              Claymores!!!!!

if you use keyless all the time, I think they make a metal plate that you can put behind it to prevent anything

If you have the keyless entry, replace the handle assembly with one with no key hole.

If a theif is going to break in, he'll find a way. Just fix your door and keep on truckin'.

didn't someone have a steel plate to go behind this hole to reinforce this area?

Happen to me before and I ended up fixing mine just because I'm picky like that. It's totally up to you whether to fix/replace it. The only problem I see not fxing it, is if your keyless pod battery dies and you have to unlock the truck manually.

Had the same thing happen to my truck, I didn't fix it because it didn't bother me then one day my alarm pad batteries died so I said whatever I'll unlock it on the passenger side, but chevy didn't put a lock on the ppassanger side.

Had the same thing happen to me on my F350 in Dallas. They took my GPS. I had them put a blank cover over the keyhole.
