    My Little Buddy.

Took my son to the range today for the first time in nearly a year. Last year, he was barely pulling back the 20lbs....WOW what a difference a year makes. He has outgrown that little Bear bow. He is ready for a 25-45lbs bow that actually shoots arrows, not just "heaving" them at the target. Mind you these are 28" Easton Axis 340's and I know they are WAY too big for that bow. But he has finally learned to group his arrows. He had 5 within 6" of each other.....with no peep sight! Time to upgrade him and get a child size release. Looks like I better start putting money aside.

Lookin' good! Just got my 9 year old daughter a Mission Menace bow (in pink camo of course). She is doing great with it. It has lots of room for adjustment.

Starting him off right! He has better shooting form than a lot of grown men. Get him to open up that grip hand a little and he'll be golden.

What do you mean by "open up?" Do you mean, relax and have loose fingers?

Yes, gripping tightly makes you torque the bow left or right. I shoot with an open hand with the bow resting lightly in the web between my thumb and index finger. Or some people make a loose semi-circle with their thumb and index finger. The bow can "float" on your hand with no torque from a tight grip.

Yeh....we were working on that at the end. I was more concerned with him establishing a common anchor with his cheek and nose. I am a guy who likes to just touch the tip of my index finger around to the tip of my thumb.
