    Both eyse open?

    Hi guys,
Quick question. I have always shot my bow(peep&pin) with my non-dominant eye shut, but i just started thinking why? Usally if you are shooting at distance with manification you would only use your dominant eye due to the change in magnification between your naked eye and telescopic sight. So in that train of thought wouldnt you shoot a bow with both eyes open since there is lack of magnification? It might be a dumb question to some but in the 15 years of bowhunting i've never thought of it. Any intel will help.
    Thanks,
    BC

Actually the peep is a form of magnification... If you take a pier of paper and poke a small hole in it it can be used as reading glasses. A peep sight is the same theory. Another reason I keep my left eye closed (rh shooting) is a focus issue. If you have deer moving around on that side your eye will tend to drift that way and off target.

I favor both eyes open, even w/ peep magnification.

I draw, anchor and settle with one eye closed then open both eyes before shooting to get better depth perception.

I use to shoot with one eye closed but about 5 years ago I switched to both. Helps with overall awareness and gets me on target faster..

I have been relearning this as well. I've been shooting with left eye closed for 10 years or more, and I am just now getting comfortable with both eyes open. I find that I am more accurate, have better depth perception, and I can find the arrow in flight or at least on target.

Thumbs up for both eyes open!

About halfway down in this thread there is some good information on keeping both eyes open.

I always shoot with both open, rifle or bow. It's so natural I don't think about it.
